Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using MailVerify. By creating an account or using the API you agree to be bound by them.

Last updated: 5 April 2026

1. Parties

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legal agreement between Bruce Media Group Ltd (Company No. 16061949), a company registered in England and Wales, trading as MailVerify ("MailVerify", "we", "us") and you, the individual or entity accessing the service ("you", "Customer").

2. The service

MailVerify provides a REST API and dashboard for email address verification ("Service"). We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

3. Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
  • One free account per person or organisation. Creating multiple free accounts to circumvent limits is prohibited.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service in accordance with our Acceptable Use Policy. In summary, you must not use MailVerify to:

  • Verify email addresses for the purpose of sending unsolicited commercial email (spam).
  • Violate any applicable laws, including the UK PECR and GDPR.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload our infrastructure.
  • Resell or white-label the Service without a written agreement with us.

5. Billing and payments

  • Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. Prices are shown in GBP excluding VAT; UK VAT is added at checkout or on your invoice where applicable.
  • Credits and monthly allowances do not roll over. Unused verifications expire at the end of each billing period.
  • We use Stripe for payment processing. By providing payment details you agree to Stripe's terms.
  • Refunds are provided at our discretion. If the Service is unavailable for more than 24 consecutive hours in a billing period, you may request a pro-rata credit.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

6. Service levels

We target 99.9% monthly uptime for the API. Scheduled maintenance is excluded. Enterprise customers may negotiate SLA terms. We do not guarantee specific response latencies, though we work hard to keep them low.

7. Intellectual property

All intellectual property in the Service, including the API design, documentation, and trademarks, is owned by Bruce Media Group Ltd. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service for your own business purposes.

8. Data and privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. Where you submit email addresses belonging to third parties via the API, you warrant that you have a lawful basis for doing so and that you will enter into a Data Processing Agreement with us on request.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MailVerify's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for: indirect, incidental, or consequential losses; loss of profit or revenue; data loss; or business interruption. Email verification results are provided on a best-effort basis — we do not guarantee that every result is accurate, and you should not rely solely on our results for critical decisions.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bruce Media Group Ltd, its directors and employees, from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Contact
