Acceptable Use Policy
This policy sets out the rules for using the MailVerify API and dashboard. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
Last updated: 5 April 2026
1. Purpose
MailVerify provides email verification infrastructure. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") exists to protect the integrity of the service, our shared infrastructure, and the wider internet community. By using MailVerify you agree to this AUP.
2. Prohibited uses
You must not use MailVerify to:
- Send or facilitate unsolicited commercial email (spam) in violation of the UK PECR, CAN-SPAM Act, or equivalent laws.
- Build email lists without proper consent from the addresses being collected.
- Conduct phishing campaigns, social engineering attacks, or any form of fraud.
- Verify addresses belonging to individuals without a lawful basis under GDPR or UK GDPR.
- Deliberately overload our systems, including via excessive concurrent requests or denial-of-service attacks.
- Circumvent rate limits, credit limits, or other technical controls.
- Resell, sub-license, or white-label the API without a written reseller agreement.
- Use the service to process addresses in a manner that breaches applicable data protection law.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract trade secrets from our service.
- Create multiple free accounts to bypass the monthly free tier limit.
3. Responsible use
When using bulk verification, you must:
- Only verify email addresses you have obtained lawfully.
- Ensure recipients of verified-clean lists have consented to receive communications.
- Honour unsubscribe requests promptly and maintain suppression lists.
- Not use verification results as the sole basis for sending without additional consent checks.
4. Rate limits and fair use
Per-plan throughput limits are documented in the API reference. Enterprise plans (including RapidAPI with your own MailVerify account) are not subject to those API throughput caps; bulk submission limits may still apply. Sustained patterns that degrade service for other customers may be throttled at our discretion regardless of plan.
5. Reporting abuse
If you believe MailVerify is being used in violation of this policy, or to send you spam, please report it to [email protected]. We take all reports seriously and will investigate within 2 business days.
6. Enforcement
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account found to be in violation of this policy, without notice in cases of serious or repeated abuse. We may also report serious violations to relevant law enforcement or regulatory authorities.
Credits or subscription fees are non-refundable in the event of termination for AUP violations.
7. Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days in advance.
